Altran SDvAS on leading Broadcom Silicon enables NEPs address Next Generation Broadband Access challenges with Disaggregated architectures and Network Functions Virtualization.
Santa Clara, Calif. – October 25, 2018 – Altran, a global design and engineering company, today announced the support of the Altran SDvAS Virtual OLT framework (SDN-enabled virtualized Access Solution for Virtual OLT) on Broadcom’s leading PON OLT silicon based platforms. Altran SDvAS enables equipment vendors to offer the agility and cost benefits of SDN and NFV, with support for disaggregated architectures using industry standard Original Device Manufacturer (ODM) platforms such as Edgecore Open OLT platforms and OEM platforms based on Broadcom PON OLT, Broadcom StrataDNX and StrataXGS Switch Silicon devices.
Altran SDvAS Virtual OLT software framework supports disaggregated OLT architectures based on the ONF R-CORD model. Leveraging the ONF R-CORD VOLTHA framework and OpenOLT drivers, Altran SDvAS enables flexible OLT deployments as an SDN controller application, as a VNF on x86 compute node, or as a local control plane on the OLT platform. With support for the Broadcom PON OLT MAC family and StrataDNX switch family, Altran SDvAS framework on the Edgecore ASXvOLT16 Open OLT platform and the ASGvOLT32 and ASGvOLT64 GPON OLT platforms enables XGS-PON and GPON OLT deployments.
