CPqD Selects Altran as a Software Partner for LTE eNodeB Solutions for Global Markets

EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J., June 26, 2012—The Altran Group a leading global innovation and technology services company, today announced that it has licensed its market-leading LTE eNodeB software frameworks to CPqD, one of Latin America’s leading Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) R&D institutions. The framework will be used to develop innovative and competitive LTE RAN solutions for global markets including Brazil.

The joint solution was recently showcased to the Brazilian Communications Ministry, by demonstrating the comprehensive over the air transmission capabilities of LTE technology for the 450 MHz band, which is currently the proposed band from Brazilian government to promote the growth of the broadband wireless access at rural areas all over the country.

It provides complete Layer 2 and Layer 3 functionalities, and exposes clear interfaces for easy interoperability, that can be integrated to the full eNodeB solution being developed by the CPqD wireless team. In addition to this comprehensive portfolio, Altran also provides value-added applications for Radio Resource Management (RRM), call and session management, Self-Organized Networks (SON) and management plane.
